AltaMed Health Services Partners with Ouma Health to Expand Maternal Fetal Medicine Services
LOS ANGELES — May 9, 2025 — AltaMed Health Services, one of the nation’s largest federally qualified community health centers, has partnered with Ouma Health for maternal-fetal medicine services as part of its Women’s Health program. This partnership offers high-risk pregnancy consultations, genetic counseling, as well as collaborative care with providers on the management of high-risk pregnancy conditions.
“Through this partnership, AltaMed has increased the level of care provided to high-risk obstetric patients with conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, advanced maternal age, and history of pregnancy loss,” said Evelyn Torres-Ozadali, the AltaMed Women’s Health Director. “Pregnancy can exacerbate many chronic health conditions, and being able to monitor high-risk pregnancies closely means we can help many women achieve safer birth outcomes and deliver healthy babies.”
Ouma Health currently provides AltaMed patients with advanced ultrasound imaging to assess fetal growth, well-being and early detection of fetal health problems. These services are provided on-site to reduce delays and transportation barriers for expectant mothers.
The partnership is already making a difference in patients' lives. AltaMed patient Susy Ochoa is celebrating her first Mother’s Day this year after experiencing two miscarriages.
“Now that I have my baby in my arms, I want other women to know that becoming a mother is possible no matter what chronic health conditions you have,” said Ochoa. “Because of the AltaMed team I was able to have a viable pregnancy. I’m so appreciative of my OB/GYN and my maternal fetal medicine team.”
For more than 55 years, AltaMed has provided access to women’s health services. From routine screenings, prenatal care, reproductive health, mammograms, health education and more. To learn more about women’s health services, click here or call (888) 499-9303.
