AltaMed Institute for Health Equity

The Institute for Health Equity

Health equity is when everyone has a fair and just opportunity to reach optimal health.

Since its establishment during the Civil Rights Movement, AltaMed has prioritized social justice. AltaMed’s Institute for Health Equity grows from this 55-year long tradition. Established in 2017, the Institute is the first of its kind investment by the nation’s largest Federally Qualified Health Center.
