Prevent HIV with a Daily Pill
PrEP is an easy, daily medication that helps prevent HIV. Currently, there are more than 1.1 million people in the U.S. who could benefit from taking PrEP. Even if you’re not sure about your chances of getting HIV, PrEP can still help you lead a healthier sex life. In fact, women now account for one in five new HIV infections every year. Men make up 80% of new HIV infections per year with the majority of those infections occuring among men who have sex with men. It’s never too early to ask your doctor about PrEP. For people without health insurance, PrEP is still affordable thanks to low and no-cost options.
As one of the largest HIV service providers in Los Angeles and Orange counties, AltaMed can help you choose healthy options for your life, including PrEP. Our experienced team provides patients with medical services, medications, and other important health and community resources.
