AltaMed Launches a New Website!

August 01, 2017

At AltaMed, we are always striving to make our health care services accessible and more convenient. After months of hard work, we are excited to announce the launch of our redesigned website, Our new website is now bilingual, available in English and Spanish, to better suit the needs of our patients and visitors.

Our new website provides a clear message of who we are, what we stand for and where our values lie when delivering quality health care. The website’s clean design and improved menu functionality directs you to information most relevant to you, the user, making it easier to navigate on a wide range of web browsers and mobile devices.

In addition to the site’s revamped design and layout, new functions have been implemented to ensure your visit to our website is a pleasant experience. Our website is now more interactive and easier to navigate. We also have a Find a Doctor or Location function that allows you to find an AltaMed location or physician, and a list of health and wellness classes and support groups to help you take action on your health.

Additionally, we integrated social media buttons for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn to make it easier to share information about AltaMed with your family and friends. We will update our content with helpful information, newsletter articles, health classes, and company events.

We hope you enjoy the new look of our website. We’ve worked hard to make sure it is easy to use and provides you and your family the guidance you need to stay well.

AltaMed Celebrates Community Clinics During National Health Center Week

August 01, 2017

It’s one of our favorite times of the year – National Health Center Week will be in full swing starting August 13. This year’s theme is “Celebrating America’s Health Centers: The Key to Healthier Communities,” and here at AltaMed, we are dedicated and committed to ensuring our patients are happy and healthy.

AltaMed is one of the many health centers serving more than 25 million Americans across more than 9,000 delivery sites. We have always strived to deliver high-quality, cost-effective care, while helping to empower the community.

We are pleased to be a part of this commemoration and are proud that our patients not only get the care they need under one roof, but are also treated as individuals, with dignity and respect. To kick off National Health Center Week (August 13 – 19), AltaMed will host two events to showcase many of the innovative projects and services we offer our communities.

There will be events in both Los Angeles and Orange Counties. Activities include:

  • Health screenings
  • Grow Healthy Community festival and farmer’s market (South Gate location only)
  • Games, raffles and prizes
  • Health education materials and information

Make sure you take photos at the events and tag us at @AltaMedHealthS on social media! Use #NHCW17 to show your support for AltaMed and National Health Centers Week. We look forward to seeing you there!

Let Us Be Your One Shot Stop

February 01, 2017

Imagine being able to tell your children they’ve got a superpower. It may not be as exciting as reading minds or flying, but if they get all their vaccinations according to schedule they’ll be immune to over 14 different diseases. Here at AltaMed we think that’s pretty heroic.

Vaccines are the most successful and practical way to prevent diseases like the measles and whooping cough, and according to the Centers for Disease Control, the United States currently has the safest and most effective vaccine supply in its history.

Getting your child vaccinated is important for their health and the health of your entire community in order to prevent possible outbreaks. Most vaccines need to be given before your child reaches 2 years of age, and your AltaMed provider is here to help you create an immunization plan. Children and adolescents also need vaccines between age 9 and 13. Your child’s wellness exams are a great time to check in and make sure you’re on track.

Did You Know Vaccines…

…can save your child’s life?

…are safe and effective?

…protect others from spreading harmful diseases?

…save time and money by preventing missed school/work and possible medical/hospital bills if your child gets sick?

…are typically covered by health insurance plans or are available at no cost to low-income families?

…protect future generations by hopefully one day eliminating these diseases from our world?
