Recent Wellness Center Participants
The Wellness Center is committed to provide a solution to a growing and serious problem that threatens our children’s futures and society. Every day more children are being diagnosed with illnesses that were previously not seen until adulthood such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. By addressing the issue with children and their families, the risk of obesity and its related co-morbidities into adulthood can be reduced.
Our Mission is to empower children and parents to live a healthy lifestyle.
The Program
The program includes 2-3 hour weekly sessions for 10 weeks.
The first half of each session consists of practical and entertaining education tools that will expose your child to nutritional and behavioral changes.
The second half is dedicated to a unique and comprehensive fitness curriculum.
After graduation, your child may qualitfy to participate in extra fitness sessions after hours for up to one year.
Upon completion of the two-month program, parents and youth will continue in our Maintenance Programs designed to reinforce the core education acquired during program sessions.
Individualized sessions are provided for children with special needs.

The program includes:
- Comprehensive medical exam by a Board Certified Pediatrician (physical examination, laboratory evaluation, diabetes prevention and other obesity associated comorbidities assessment)
- Referral for consultation by a Pediatric Subspecialist if the child has obesity associated medical issues
- The patient's primary care physician remains in charge of the patient. Regular updates on the patient's progress will be provided.
- Group assessment and education by a licensed nutrition specialist and continual progress assessment of both child and parents
- Thorough group evaluation by licensed mental health professional and ongoing follow up sessions and/or groups
- Behavior modification
