Keep the Promise

A Three-Year Campaign to Provide Care to Underserved Communities in Los Angeles and Orange Counties

AltaMed delivers primary medical and dental care, much of which is reimbursed through insurance providers. It also delivers services which address medical and societal issues in the community that, if left alone, will lead to costly medical and economic conditions in the future. Support for these community-based services has traditionally come from public sources however; much of this funding has now been eliminated at a time when there is great need. AltaMed’s response is Keep the Promise, and with it, we will continue to provide quality care without exception throughout these difficult times.

Seeking guidance from staff doctors, AltaMed identified the most challenging health-related trends that threaten our communities today. Three issues consistently ranked at the top:

  • Childhood Obesity
Because obesity in children and adults leads to chronic medical conditions which are costly and can be life shortening.
  • Teen Rescue
Because educating and empowering our youth are the keys to ending a cycle of disenfranchisement.

  • Uninsured Services
Because providing quality medical care to the uninsured promotes human welfare, saves costly medical procedures and strengthens the workforce of our communities.

We urge you to join us in bringing strength and good health to our underserved communities.
