Clinic Opportunities

 

CLINIC ADMINISTRATOR: Responsible for the overall coordination of business, operations, nursing and medical activities at any one or more of the AltaMed medical and dental clinic facilities. Collaborates with Site Lead Physician and/or Dental Director in directing the support staff in their responsibilities for effective rendering of diagnostic and treatment services. In conjunction with the AVP and COO strives to achieve Medical Division goals and directives that pertain to any and/or all corporate initiatives that affect clinical operations. Ability to understand and comply with the applicable laws, rules, and regulations, ability to maintain or supervise the maintenance of financial and other records, and the ability to direct the work of others. Requirements: Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. A Master’s degree preferred. BS/BA(required) in Business, Nursing, Health Administration and other health related fields. Minimum 1 year experience as a clinic manager/business office manager in a private practice and/or public sector medical clinic setting or minimum 3 years experience in nursing supervision in a similar or equivalent medical/hospital/health setting.

FRONT OFFICE SUPERVISOR: Coordinates front office activities to assure smooth operation; Monitor and coordinates appointment schedules for all providers; Prepares daily cash deposits and maintain the receipt book and ledger. Prepares daily patient encounters and productivity reports; Trains front office personnel, monitors financial screening process; Patient eligibility verifications: HMO, MediCal, HAP and GR. Assist at front office as needed such as: answering phones, schedule appointments, and other related duties. Coordinates and manages adequate staffing and scheduling of all front office personnel, works with Clinic Administrator and Site Lead Physician schedules, Interviews and hires potential applicants. BACK OFFICE SUPERVISOR : Supervises, coordinates and provides back office patient care in a Family Practice setting. Supervises medical assistant personnel and documents preliminary nursing assessment on each patient to be seen in department, including, but no limited to, Vital Signs: Temperature, Blood Pressure, Pulse, Weight, Height, Respiration’s. Assists medical providers and/or carries out medical providers orders by performing requested tests such as, but not limited to: Glucometer test, Urine Dip Test, TB Test & Readings, Audio Testing, HHN Treatment, Casting set-up and assist on cast removal, Minor Surgeries-set up and assist, Pelvic set up and assist, HCT/HGB, Urine Pregnancy Test, EKG’s, Ear Lavage, Injections NST. Responsible for maintaining current knowledge of Back Office Procedures. Orients new clinical support staff. Supervises, coordinates and manages back office functions, including staff. GREETER/VERIFIER/OPERATOR: Seeking Medical Assistant (front office experience) with completed externship and excellent customer service skills and phone etiquette. Responsible for performing basic administrative clerical and technical support services to medical providers following the Care in Action Model. Will answer telephones, route calls, take messages and provide appropriate information, in a prompt and courteous manner. Schedules appointments by phone and provides excellent customer service. Bilingual English/Spanish required. Personal Computer literacy: word processing, file management, labels. Ability to work effectively with a diverse population. MEDICAL ASSISTANTS (On-Call, Temporary, and Full-Time) : Assists in the provision of direct patient care by performing routine patient care procedures, basic administrative, clerical, and technical support to medical providers. May administer IM, SQ, and ID injections and may perform skin test, venipunctures, and skin punctures for blood specimens. Requires excellent communication skills, customer service; ability to obtain findings and document appropriately. Requirements: Basic education, training and certification in Medical Assisting. Minimum 1 year experience in Pediatrics (CHDP billing) and Family Practice required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.

MEDICAL ASSISTANT/X-RAY TECHNICIAN: Responsible for performing radiology exams to support clinic; providing medical assistant support to medical providers. REQUIREMENTS: Knowledgeable in radiology procedures and use of all radiology equipment within scope of certification. Limited Permit in X-Ray Technology required. Basic education, training, and certification in Medical Assisting. Medical Assistant certificate from accredited school required. High school graduate or equivalent preferred. REGISTERED RECORDS TECHNICIAN: Responsible for daily management and supervision of the Medical Records management such as assembly, analysis, filing, scanning records for CSD, analysis, filing, scanning records for CSD, physician record completion services, release of information, birth certificates, storage and retrieval of medical records, transcription and other operations as assigned. Will work with coding staff in providing reports and records awaiting coding. Ensure that departmental goals are met, conduct performance evaluations and, if necessary, take disciplinary action in accordance with established policies and procedures. Makes recommendations for policy and procedure and workflow changes to the Asst. Director, as necessary. Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: Accredited Records Technician (ART). WOMEN’S HEALTH COORDINATOR (CPHW): Responsible for ensuring the integrity and quality of the health services delivered in Comprehensive Prenatal Services, Family Planning and OB/GYN. Represents the clinic in all matters dealing with the delivery of these services and works closely with the Women’s Health Coordinator, Clinic Manager and staff in CPSP and Family Planning as well as with the medical providers to develop and implement the goals and objectives of the various programs and services represented. Responsible for providing assessment, documentation and program eligibility for the CPSP and Family Planning Program. Requirements: Experience and knowledge of CPSP and Family PACT. Must have Family Planning Certification and at least 2 years exp. working with CPSP and as a Family Planning counselor. HS diploma and CPHW Certification. Bilingual English/Spanish

Dental Opportunities

DENTAL ASSISTANT (registered and non-registered): Assists the dentist(s) and the dental hygienist(s) in the direct provision of primary care dental services to patients at the clinic. REGISTERED DENTAL ASSISTANT : A full time, non-exempt position responsible for assisting the dentist(s) and the dental hygienist(s) in the direct provision of primary care dental services to patients at the clinic. Ability to make temporary crowns, do coronal polishing, and perform all other duties to which the registered dental assistant license entitles. The Registered Dental Assistant is also responsible for sterilization, preparation and inventory control of dental instruments and supplies. Requirements: Must have comprehensive knowledge of dental assisting techniques and procedures for all phases of general dentistry. High School Diploma or equivalent. Certified Dental Assistant (preferred). Current CPR (BLS) required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) and completion of accredited course in dental assisting.

Dental Hygienist (registered): Responsible for the direct provision of oral hygiene and appropriate preventive services to dental patients of the clinic. Will also provide appropriate oral health information to individuals and groups. Requirements: Graduation from an accredited school of dental hygiene. Licensed to practice as a Registered Dental Hygienist. Ability to maintain appropriate clinical privileges required; possession of x-ray license. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills required. Bilingual (English/Spanish).

Dentists: Will provide preventative and primary dental care consistent with the dentist’s training and experience in a community health clinic setting. Will treat patients from diverse social and ethnic backgrounds and work creatively as a member of a health oriented team composed of health care professions from a variety of disciplines for the healing and betterment of the Clinic’s patients. Requirements: Comprehensive knowledge of all phases of primary dental care in an out-patient clinical setting. Knowledge of the principles and modern dentistry. Graduation from an accredited dental school. Licensed to practice in the State of California . Must be cognizant of the prevalent health and social stressors on the patients and the impact on their practice of dentistry. Ability to be clinically fluent in Spanish preferred; maintain appropriate clinical privileges (required). Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.     Location: Huntington Beach

HIV SERVICES

REGISTERED DIETITIAN: Provides medical nutrition therapy to people living with HIV/AIDS and coordinates nutrition services for the HIV Division. Determines dietary needs of participants from information gathered from consultation with client, medical staff, participant’s chart and other resources. Observes, analyzes and records diet therapies and patient’s response to diets; evaluates the effectiveness of dietary interventions, to determine necessary changes and or need for supplemental feeding Requirements: Dietitian will be registered or eligible for registration as a dietitian with the Commission and Dietetic Registration. One or two years experience in a healthcare setting. An active participant of Dietitians in AIDS Care, Los Angeles ; and a member of the American Dietetic Association’s HIV/AIDS Dietetic practice group is preferred. Bilingual Spanish highly desired.

 

 

 

HIV PREVENTION MANAGER: The HIV Prevention Manager ensures that (1) all prevention and testing services are client-centered and cost effective, (2) all continuum of care for prevention, testing and health services is established that can track referrals among the different services; and (3) strategic planning is used for program development, especially the identification of new funding sources in line with the vision for AltaMed. Requirements: Bachelor of Arts Degree in field applicable to HIV prevention. Otherwise, a minimum of one year extensive experience working in an n HIV prevention program or an HIV/AIDS related human services field such as social work, psychology, nursing, counseling or health education. Must possess excellent organization and communication skills Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

 

LONG TERM CARE SERVICESA

Assistant Vice President of Adult Day Health Care: The Assistant Vice President, Adult Day Health Care shall have the responsibility and authority to carry out the policies of the Program(s) under his/her direct supervision. The title shall be responsible for program(s) adherence to and compliance with licensing requirements. The title shall be responsible for budget and fiscal effectiveness of program(s) under his/her direction. Responsible for participant/client census, staffing, effective/efficient operations of all Long Term Care programs and provides guidance on the strategic development of Long Term Care Division services Requirements: A master’s degree preferred, and/or a bachelor’s degree and three years of successful experience in a responsible managerial, administrative or supervisory position in a social or health service program or agency, preferably with the geriatric population. Degree in Public Administration, Business, Social Work, Gerontology or Human Services field. Experience working in a managerial/supervisory position, within the healthcare field, preferably with Seniors or Disabled Adults.
Experience in Fiscal and Program Accountability.

MEDICAL SOCIAL WORKER: Under the direct supervision of the Program Director, is responsible for the provision of ADHC social services, including assessment, care plan development and advocacy for each participant. Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings and provides consultation to therapists families and participants. REQUIREMENTS: Experience in working with Case Management of the elderly. Experience and knowledge regarding the physical, mental and social needs of the elderly. Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment. Must maintain current CPR/First Aid Training. (If not current when hired, must obtain current CPR/First Aid within first six months of employment.)

 

 

CERTIFIED OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT (COTA): Participates in the treatment of participants in the adult day health care center setting. Requirements: Bilingual (English/Spanish) required. Ability to work well with the elderly. Formal training as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant. At least 1 year experience working with elderly in health care setting for physically or mentally impaired seniors.

ACTIVITY COORDINATOR ASSISTANT: Responsible for developing and implementing an activity program which meets the needs and interests of each participant. The activity program shall assist the participant to resume self-care and normal activities to prevent further mental or physical deterioration. (ADHC). Requirements: Prefer 2 years of experience in social, recreational or education program within the past 5 years, 1 year of which was full-time employment in a patient activities program in a healthcare setting, mental health setting or setting for the care of the handicapped. Completion of at least 36 hours of training in a course designed specifically for this position and approved by the Department or on the job training. Must possess the skill and ability to successfully interact with seniors; be creative and imaginative in planning, coordinating, and directing activities. Bilingual (English/Spanish or Mandarin/Cantonese) preferred.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST : Provides an occupational therapy program for the physical and mental rehabilitation of participants. Develops and implements Individual Care Plan or ADHC participants. Coordinates participant services. Seeking individual with more than 3 years of experience working with frail elderly population. Evaluates patients, direct patient treatment, supervision of OT aides and oversight of treatment provided by OT aides, reassessments, quarterlies, provides in-services and education. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy required. Must be licensed by the California Board of Occupational Therapy. Occupational Therapy Experience with frail elderly and disabled populations. Must maintain current CPR/First Aid Training. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

PHYSICAL THERAPIST : Responsible for the daily operations of the rehabilitation department. Provides a physical therapy program for the physical and mental rehabilitation patients. Bilingual English/Spanish. valuation and Plan of Care skills essential. Requirements: BS degree in physical therapy from an accredited institution; must be licensed by the Physical Therapy Examining Committee of the California Board of Medical Quality Assurance; experience working with frail elderly.

CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant/Program Aides): Provides delineated nursing services to persons participating in ADHC program. Experience with physically or mentally impaired older persons preferred. Requirements: Certified Nursing Aide education and training, certified as CNA by the State of California; current CPR/First Aid certification; Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

PROGRAM AIDE III (RNA - Restorative CNA): Provides a high level of physical/occupational therapy for participants to maintain maximum physical endurance to level of ability. Requirements: Bilingual (English/Spanish) or (English/Mandarin/Cantonese) required. Must have current CNA certificate, PR card, and First Aid certification. Must have restorative Nurse’s Assistant certificate or Sports Therapy & Fitness Technician certificate. Experience with physically or mentally impaired older persons preferred.

RN CARE COORDINATOR/CASE MANAGER (Per Diem positions): Responsible for the case management of all SBC participants who are hospitalized, placed in a skilled nursing facility or are placed in a board and care setting. Will coordinate the discharge planning aspect, and monitor utilization in concert with the medical providers, determining appropriateness of level of care. Will provide home assessment, environment assessment care giver education. Requirements: Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Current California RN license. Minimum of 3 years experience in Geriatric Nursing. Prefer a minimum of 3 years experience in managed care setting, preferably in utilization or case management in ambulatory or inpatient setting.

SOCIAL WORKER CARE MANAGER : Responsible for the evaluation of the potential client as a total person and identify the limitations which impede their daily living; case recording and reporting on a timely basis; participation in care plan development and facilitates the coordination of social/health services. Case manager duties, but are not limited to conducting home assessments, developing care plan; outreach and enrollment of clients. Must have knowledge of MSSP budget systems, addendum process, Quality Management, MSSP care and able to assist SCMs with various supervisory tasks as necessary. Requirements: Bilingual (English/Spanish) required. BS in Social Work or related field. Case management experience working with special population. Minimum 2 years experience Care Management skills, which include assessments, care plan, termination, on-going advocacy, and high level of performance.

ACTIVITY COORDINATOR ASSISTANT: Responsible for developing and implementing an activity program which meets the needs and interests of each participant. The activity program shall assist the participant to resume self-care and normal activities to prevent further mental or physical deterioration. (ADHC)Requirements: Prefer 2 years of experience in social, recreational or education program within the past 5 years, 1 year of which was full-time employment in a patient activities program in a healthcare setting, mental health setting or setting for the care of the handicapped. Completion of at least 36 hours of training in a course designed specifically for this position and approved by the Department or on the job training. CASE MANAGER (AFLP Program): Provides comprehensive case management and outreach services based on a home-visiting model to eligible pregnant or parenting teens, some who have MediCal and some who do not. Will assist teens through counseling and referralsto prevent unplanned pregnancies; assess needs and identify resources available within the community in order to provide teens with services and referrals. Will develop Individual Service Plan (ISP) for each client. As a responsible team member will contribute to program growth, and will display commitment to the program and company mission and goals. Requirements: BS (required) in Social Work or other Social Human Services. Minimum 1 year in case management work or related experience with adolescents is preferred. Will consider entry level trainee and appropriate Bachelors degree. PROGRAM COORDINATOR (ESCALERA):  Will supervise of several case managers; lead efforts in the Youth Development Program guiding youth and young adults in the career path of their choice; be responsible for writing and developing corrective action plans as requested by the contracted agencies; develop annual work plan for the Escalera Program.Requirements: Bachelors Degree in related field; must have one-two years experience coordinating youth programs; prior knowledge of communities in East Los Angeles, Boyle Heights, Lincoln Heights, Highland Park, El Sereno and other communities where services are provided for program participants; excellent written/verbal communications skills; bilingual: English/Spanish preferred; ability to work in a culturally diverse environment.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH MARKETING REPRESENTATIVE (Woman's Health): Serves as the community representative of AltaMed Community Relations Division. Responsible for the outreach and marketing activities; and assists with the development and implementation of a Market-Driven attitude within the AltaMed environment. Should fully understand various programs and services offered through AltaMed, including Senior BuenaCare. Must work as part of a team, concentrating on the delivery of high quality services to all of our customers. Should have the ability to assess all of AltaMed’s Services, and work together with the Community Access Point Center in order to meet client needs. Should also be able to recognize other patient/referral needs (such as: Family Medicine, Women’s Health, Pediatrics, HIV/AIDS, etc.) and refer to Primary Care Health Services Associates for further assessment. Will work to identify new referral sources and will cultivate existing sources; serve as the community liaison for the Community Relations Division and AltaMed through outreach activities and coordination with external agencies and other AltaMed programs. CUSTODIAN (Float): Cleans and maintains building/facilities to ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with sanitation regulations. Performs a variety of maintenance duties, including but not limited to maintaining patient rooms, offices, hallways, restrooms/orother assigned areas of the clinic / or other company sites in a sanitary and attractive condition. May be expected to make basic repairs.Requirements: Minimum of one year

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN: Performs a variety of maintenance tasks, including minor plumbing, minor electrical, painting, patching and drywall. Takes responsibility for ensuring maintenance of building structures, as appropriate. Assists in the completion of building projects and upgrades. Performs other general facilities management department duties, as assigned. Requirements: Must have high school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 1 year of related experience and/or training. QUALITY/UTILIZATION CASE MANAGEMENT NURSE (Nursing/Case Management Dept): Telephonic RN case manager that Identifies, evaluates, coordinates, and monitors all case management care and services provided to acute inpatient (in-network and out-of-network), ambulatory, home health care, DME, and skilled nursing facility. Manages the continuum of care for identified long term or catastrophic cases. Ensures appropriate levels of care through prospective, concurrent and retrospective review of health care services. USER SUPPORT SPECIALIST: Provides technical support to the user community on a variety of issues. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems. Tracks and monitors problems to ensure a timely resolution. First point of contact for all technical support and help desk issues via telephone calls, e-mail, fax, and in-person requests. Prioritizes requests or problems according to established criteria and enters relevant data into a computerized user-requests tracking system. UTILIZATION MANAGEMENT AUTHORIZATION COORDINATOR: Assists with daily operational functions to effectively process pre-authorization, retro-authorization, and concurrent referral requests for multiple contracted health plans. Data enters authorization information, maintains authorization logs/reports and files. MEDICAL SOCIAL WORKER : Under the direct supervision of the Program Director, is responsible for the provision of ADHC social services, including assessment, care plan development and advocacy for each participant. Evaluates patients, direct patient treatment, supervision of OT aides and oversight of treatment provided by OT aides, reassessments, quarterlies, provides in-services and education. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy required. Must be licensed by the California Board of Occupational Therapy.
