AltaMed Health Services opened its doors as the East Los Angeles Barrio Free Clinic in 1969. Forty years later, it has grown to become California’s largest non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) providing vital medical care for generations of Angelinos and the greater Southern California area. With annual revenues that exceed $180 million and more than 650,000 annual patient visits, AltaMed consistently receives the highest ratings from the Joint Commission. AltaMed is an important part of the national network of 7,000 FQHC clinics nationwide that provide health care services to more than 18 million patients each year.
AltaMed expert medical staff and patients may be available for press interviews and comment on a variety of topics.
